Recently, I had a business owner inquire on supplemental Abuse and Molestation insurance for a massage / spa company. They currently had General Liability insurance however they were looking to supplement.
Abuse and Molestation insurance covers the business for Liability Claims based on allegations of inappropriate contact by an owner or employee. Generally, it is needed by any class of business that has contact with children (e.g. daycares, counseling) or physical contact (e.g. medical professionals, massage therapist). The coverage is added to your General Liability either by removing the exclusion for it in the policy form or adding it directly as a separate limit. There may be policies that cover Abuse & Molestation on a stand-alone policy, but the availability would be minimal and the cost generally prohibitive.
